Privacy Policy

Receipt Stack is published by Maritime Digital Solutions, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Privacy contact: info@maritimedigital.ca. We do not operate a Receipt Stack backend. Receipt files and the yearly index never pass through Maritime Digital servers, and we cannot open them. You choose Google Drive or iCloud Drive. You are the customer of that account. Google or Apple provide that account under their own terms.
What Maritime Digital collects
Receipt Stack has no Maritime Digital user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. We do not receive your receipt images or index on our computers.
The app does send receipt images and the yearly index off your device, because that is how save works. Those files go only to the Google Drive or iCloud Drive account you connect. Apple’s App Store privacy labels describe that off-device save as Photos or Videos, Other User Content, and Other Financial Info used for app functionality, linked to the cloud account you use, and not used for tracking.
Where your receipts go
Receipt images and their spreadsheet index are saved only to cloud storage you choose and control: your Google Drive or your iCloud Drive. The app creates a Receipts folder. It appends files and index rows. It does not delete or overwrite cloud files. Files stay in your account until you delete them in Google Drive, Google Sheets, the Files app, or iCloud. Deleting Receipt Stack from your phone does not delete those cloud files. We cannot delete them for you.
Google account access
If you choose Google Drive, the app requests Google's most limited Drive permission (drive.file): it can only see files and folders it created itself. It cannot read, browse, or modify anything else in your Google Drive. Sign-in is handled by Google; we never see or store your password. You can revoke this access at any time in the app (Disconnect Google) and at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
If you choose Google Drive, Google may store your files outside Canada, including in the United States, under Google’s terms. We do not control Google’s storage locations.
iCloud Drive
If you choose iCloud Drive, the app writes to the iCloud container shown in the Files app (Receipt Stack). Apple provides iCloud under Apple’s terms. We do not read that container from our own systems.
Google and Apple are not Maritime Digital analytics or advertising partners. They hold your files because you directed the app to use your account.
Text recognition
Receipt scanning and text recognition run entirely on your device using Apple's built-in frameworks. Receipt images are never sent to us or to any third-party service for processing.
On-device data
The app keeps a small local database on your phone (pending uploads and receipt fingerprints used to warn about duplicates). It stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
Your choices
You choose the destination (Google Drive or iCloud Drive) before the first save. You can stop using Google by disconnecting in the app and revoking access at Google. You can delete files in your own Drive or iCloud. For questions, access, or correction requests about anything Maritime Digital holds (we do not hold receipt files), email info@maritimedigital.ca. We may need to tell you to use Google or Apple tools for files we cannot see.
Children
Receipt Stack is not directed at children under 13. Do not use it to store a child’s receipts.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
